Shaker Square Citizens

Our current Shaker Square Citizen - our third - is Carole Grady who who has just retired as the Assistant Director of SHAD, the Shaker Square Area Development Corporation.

She follows Jane Campbell, Cleveland's former Mayor, whose public service spans more than 30 years at many levels: neighborhood, city, county and state.

Early in September 2005, we featured Richard Gildenmeister in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the career of Shaker Square's master bookseller.

We would also like to recognize Kenneth L. Johnson, our Ward 4 Cleveland City Councilman, but his office hasn't replied to our emails. It is puzzling that in Cleveland, soon to be a "wired" city, our council reps can't get (or can't answer?) email.

To suggest someone to be celebrated on these pages: persons who live or work here and who have long contributed to Shaker Square's quality and character, contact us. Please don't send bio and photo until requested.
